Susanoo no Mikoto is the impetuous storm god of classical Japanese mythology. He was banished from Takamagahara and came down to a place called Soshimori in the land of Silla before crossing the sea to Japan. Susanoo became historically identified with Gozu Tennō and Mutō-no-Kami, with the conflation already occurring by the 8th century.
