Kunitsukami

Kunitsukami is a generic term for the gods who appeared on the earth (Ashihara no Nakatsukuni) in Japanese mythology. These deities were worshipped by the people of regions pacified by the Yamato Kingship, including the Emishi and Hayato. They transferred the land to the Amatsukami in the event known as kuni-yuzuri, and many of their original traditions were altered or lost when incorporated into the Nihon Shoki.
