About REALMS

REALMS — Research Entity Archive for Light & Metaphysical Spirit Hierarchies — is a provenance-tracked knowledge base of spiritual entities documented across global indigenous and traditional religious traditions. Every entry records what was said, where it was said, and who said it.

What this is not

This is not a generative text site. No entity page is the product of an unconstrained language model. Every claim on an entity page traces to at least one recorded source, and the exact model, temperature, and prompt version used for extraction are stored alongside the result. Where we merge multiple extractions into a single description we say so.

Where the text comes from

The ingestion pipeline fetches open source-text layers (Wikipedia, the Internet Archive's public-domain scans, PubMed abstracts), breaks them into chunks, and asks an LLM to produce structured entity records from each chunk. Records are then normalized, fuzzy-matched against existing entities, and merged. Typed relationships come from explicit role fields in the extraction prompt. Unclear cases are flagged for human review.

How to read an entity page

  • Confidence ribbon — a tier (triangulated / corroborated / single tradition / stub) reflecting how many independent source-types agree.
  • Sidenotes — alternate names, region, tradition, external identifiers.
  • Relationships — typed edges only (parent_of, consort_of, etc). Weak co-occurrence edges live in the graph view.
  • Sources — citations and verbatim passages extracted from source texts.
