Panhtwar
deity earth Burmese single tradition · 1
Panhtwar was the only daughter of Sula Thambawa and Sanda Muhki, a rakshasi woman from Lanka Dipa. She was Queen of Beikthano, a small kingdom created for her by the deity Beikthano (Vishnu) as a blessing because she was assumed to be the younger sister of Vishnu in a previous life. She successfully defended her kingdom with a magical drum given by Indra until betrayed, and later sought revenge against her husband Duttabaung who had conquered her kingdom.
