Ölrún, whose name possibly means "beer rune," is a valkyrie and daughter of Kjárr of Valland. She was found spinning linen on the shore of lake Úlfsjár with swan's garments nearby, and lived with the brother Egil for seven winters before flying off to battle and not returning.
