Hervör alvitr, whose name possibly means "all-wise" or "strange creature," is a valkyrie and daughter of King Hlödvér. She was found spinning linen on the shore of lake Úlfsjár with swan's garments nearby, and lived with the brother Völund for seven winters before flying off to battle and not returning.
