Iztac-Chalchiuhtlicue is the mother of the five Mimixcoa who went into a cave (Chicomoztoc or Tlalocan) and gave birth to Cuauhtlicoauh, Mixcoatl, Cuitlachcihuatl, Tlotepe, and Apantecuhtli. Her children spent four days in the water after birth before being suckled by Mecitli.
