Wiching was a Swabian Carolingian bishop who succeeded Methodius. He suppressed the Slavonic Liturgy and compelled the disciples of Methodius into exile. He was appointed as successor to Methodius by Pope Stephen V and promptly sent disciples of Cyril and Methodius into exile from Great Moravia.
