Tamatekapua is the son of Houmai and brother of Whakatūria. He searches for the dog Pōtaka Tawhiti and hears it barking inside Toi's belly. He and his brother take revenge on Uenuku by stealing fruit and tricking the people into releasing Whakatūria.
