Salailen Sidaba is the god of heaven in Meitei tradition. He resides in a heavenly abode where the six Luwang ladies and their tribal lovers sought refuge. He showed pity to the distressed couples, granted them accommodation in heaven, and allowed them to return to earth once a year to lead conjugal life and care for their cicada child, though he warned that no mortal could enjoy earthly love in heaven.
