Nemausios

Nemausios is one of the Heracleidae, from whom Stephanus of Byzantium preserves a derivation of the name of the Gallic town Nemausos. Parthenius of Nicaea included a story about Nemausios to explain the preexisting deity of the spring at Nîmes. The story of the town's namesake is attributed to Parthenius of Nicaea and therefore dates no later than the 1st century BC.
