Inanna of Kish

deity earth Babylonian single tradition · 1

Inanna of Kish is a goddess to be distinguished from Inanna of Uruk who was worshiped in Kish. Some scholars argue she was regarded as Zababa's spouse before the introduction of Bau to Kish in the Old Babylonian period, though no primary sources refer to them as a couple. It has been suggested that if a connection did exist between them, they might have equally likely been viewed as siblings in the local tradition instead.
