Holzfräulein
nature_spirit forest Germanic folklore single tradition · 1
Wood-sprites or wood ladies from Germanic folklore who occasionally borrow items from people or ask for help, always compensating owners generously with good advice or bread. They are easily angered by spurning their gifts or by being given caraway bread, which they particularly hate. They can become domestic spirits working at night in kitchen, stable, farmyard, and parlor when shown gratitude.
