Wild huntsmen of Upper Palatinate folklore whose name means "wood chasers" in German. They chase, catch, and rip to shreds the Holzfräulein and Moosweiblein, the little wood and moss ladies of the forest. They represent a particularly violent regional manifestation of the Wild Hunt tradition.
