Golden-Haired Hou is the mount of the bodhisattva Guanyin who overheard Mahamayuri's prophecy about the prince's lovesickness. Years later, this being took advantage of his sleeping guardian, escaped to the mortal realm, and transformed into the demon king Sai Tai Sui. In this demonic form, he kidnapped the Lady of Jinsheng Palace and forced her into marriage.
