Abau (also romanized as Ababa) is a deity who could fulfill the role of Bau's mother. Another deity named Abau, known from An = Anum passage and first millennium BCE lamentations, was instead male and could be described as a son of Bau. This deity is presumed to be identical with Abu from the myth of Enki and Ninhursag.
