The Virgin of Charity of El Cobre is a venerated image of the Virgin Mary. She is the Patroness of Cuba, and Cuban history is dotted with marvelous expressions of love for her. Her Sanctuary is located in El Cobre, which was the first place in Cuba where freedom for slaves was won.
