Vangas is a figure in Finnish mythology who lied with Vingas to produce Vangamoinen, the lord of snakes and lizards. In some song variants, Vangas is described as Vingas's own mother's child. In another Kainuu song, Vangas swallowed a bubble on the sea that burned her throat, leading to the birth of the common lizard.
