Šumaḫ

Šumaḫ, whose name means "the one with the mighty hand," functioned as his mother's sukkal (divine vizier) and as one of the five udug (protective spirits) of the temple Egalmaḫ. His duty was cleaning and purifying the streets of Isin for his mother. He is not to be confused with the similarly named goddess Ama-šumaḫ.
