To Kok Khanak (also known as 'To Anurak') is an Asura demon and a good friend of Pu Chao Khao Khiao. He was attacked by Phra Ram, who threw a Kok tree at the demon, piercing his chest and pinning him to the side of the mountain Pra Sumen. Pra Ram cursed him that 'Until your descendants weave a Civara monks robe from lotus petals, and offer it to Pra Sri Ariya Maedtrai (Maitreya, the future Buddha) your curse will not be lifted.'
