Tianhou, also known as Tianhou Shengmu, is a title used mostly in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Vietnam. Also called Tin Hau in Cantonese, Thean Hou in Min Chinese and Thiên Hậu in Vietnamese, the name means "Queen/Empress of Heaven", and is an official title conferred to Mazu in 1683.
