Te Uenuku

Te Uenuku is a large carving made out of tōtara with a round opening at the top, in which a stone containing the spirit of Uenuku was placed. The carving is unique in form, and bears a noted resemblance to Hawaiian carving styles. Today, Te Awamutu Museum in Waikato has Te Uenuku in its possession.
