Saint Vladimir

Vladimir I Sviatoslavich, also known as Vladimir the Great, was Prince of Novgorod and Grand Prince of Kiev who ruled until his death in 1015. Originally a follower of Slavic paganism, he converted to Christianity in 988 and Christianized the Kievan Rus'. He was canonized as a saint by both the Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church.
