Saint Pancras was a Roman citizen who converted to Christianity and was martyred by beheading at age fourteen around 304 CE for his faith. His Greek name Pankrátios means 'all-powerful'. He is venerated as the patron saint of children and is traditionally the second of the Ice Saints.
