Saint Joachim was, according to Christian Sacred tradition, the husband of Saint Anne and the father of Mary, making him the grandfather of Jesus. His story first appears in the Gospel of James, part of the New Testament apocrypha. His feast day is celebrated on 26 July, a date he shares with Saint Anne.
