Sacháyoj was a supernatural, aged being with extremely long, white hair that covered his whole body, sometimes depicted as carrying a long cane. He served as the guardian of the forest in Argentine Northwest traditions. When natives felled a tree without need, he would punish them by making the tree disappear forever.
