Saṃkarṣaṇa is one of the five Vrishni heroes mentioned in inscriptions dating to the 1st century BCE and 1st century CE. He is mentioned alongside Vāsudeva in the Hathibada Ghosundi Inscriptions, where a structure was built for their worship in association with the supreme deity Narayana.
