Rata-Nui is an alternate name for Tu-Nui-Ka-Rere, one of two sons born to Faumea and the sea god Tangaroa. He participates with his father and brother in the rescue of Hina-Arau-Riki from the octopus-demon Rogo-Tumu-Here.
