Ptah-Sokar-Osiris is a syncretic deity formed gradually from the combination of Ptah, Sokar, and Osiris. Statuettes representing the human form, the half-human half-hawk form, or the pure falcon form of this deity were systematically placed in tombs to accompany and protect the dead on their journey to the West.
