Protogonos is a primordial deity who arises from the egg laid by Kronos in Chaos in the Hieronyman Theogony. In the Derveni Theogony, Protogonos arises from the egg laid by Night, then gives birth to Ouranos and Gaia. Zeus later swallows the primordial egg of Protogonos and recreates the Universe in the process.
