Ossia is a divine personification of rumor (ossia) in Greek mythology. In the Iliad she acts as a messenger of Zeus, urging warriors to take up arms at the behest of Agamemnon and Nestor. In the Odyssey she again serves as a messenger, traveling through the city to spread news of Odysseus' massacre of Penelope's suitors.
