Nagavalli was the wife of a rishi named Piruhu. She was cursed by the Trimurti (Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva) after turning them into children, causing her face to become disfigured with smallpox. As a result, she was driven away by her husband and destined to be born on earth, causing affliction to human beings.
