Manqu Qhapaq was a founding ancestor figure whose body was mummified and kept in Cusco after his natural death. His mummified remains were later moved to the Temple of the Sun on Isla del Sol during the reign of Pachacuti. A statue was erected in his honor in Cusco after his body's removal.
