Mama Waqu was a sorceress who enchanted the people of Cusco to make her their Queen regnant or Quya. She had sexual relationships with multiple men and gave birth to Manco Capac, whom she later married and ruled jointly with as Sapa Inca. The myth identifies her as an allegory of Earth itself, with her polyandry representing the Earth 'laying' with farmers.
