Mae Nak Phra Khanong is a well-known Thai ghost whose story is based on events that took place during the reign of King Rama IV. A shrine dedicated to her was constructed at Wat Mahabut and later relocated to the Suan Luang district of modern Bangkok in 1997. She is also known simply as Mae Nak or Nang Nak.
