Lugh is the son of Mac Cinnfhaelaidh and Eithne, and grandson of Balor. He is one of triplets born to Eithne, the only one to survive Balor's attempt to drown them after being rescued by Biróg. Raised in fosterage by Gavida the smith, he grows up to kill his grandfather Balor, fulfilling the prophecy.
