Kuna dwelt in a place called Wai-kuna, “the Kuna water”. He lived in the river in which Hina dwelt, which bears the name Wailuku, “the destructive water” river. Kuna was killed by Maui by beating him with a club after Kuna jumped from the boiling pools over a series of small falls near his home into the river below.
