Korykra was a beautiful nymph, daughter of Asopus, who was kidnapped by Poseidon and brought to an unnamed island. She was the sister of numerous other nymphs and personified figures including Pelasgus, Ismenus, Chalcis, and many others. The island of Corcyra (modern Corfu) was named after her.
