The Koonawara sisters are two black swan spirits in Australian Aboriginal mythology. Loo-errn decided to follow them to try and kill them to eat after a black swan feather alerted him to their presence. When Loo-errn cursed them, they were turned into nasty beings and he chased them across the sky.
