Kashyapa Prajapati is a deity who granted boons to his two wives, Vinata and Kadru, to have children. He blessed them, leading to the birth of Aruna and Garuda (sons of Vinata) and the thousand Nāga serpent sons of Kadru. He bestowed the position of charioteer to Surya upon Aruna.
