Jielin is another name for Taiyin Xingjun, the moon goddess. According to the Seven Sage Chronicles, the Jie Lin (yellow text) dwells with the moon, and is the essence of the moon. The Jade Emperor appointed Jielin as a guardian spirit to balance labor and rest.
