Hermione is the daughter of Helen and Menelaus. Hesiod says she was "a child unlooked for," and Homer writes she was Helen's first and only child. Different sources say she was also the mother of one or more sons, named Aethiolas, Nicostratus, Megapenthes and Pleisthenes.
