Two golden calf idols created by King Jeroboam and placed in Bethel and Dan in the northern Kingdom of Israel. They were presented to the people with the declaration "Here are your gods, Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt." The calves were intended as substitutes for the cherubim in Solomon's temple in Jerusalem, though the practice became regarded as sinful idolatry.
