Gloriana is a fairy queen and the titular character of Edmund Spenser's allegorical epic poem "The Faerie Queene". She is the daughter of King Oberon and is also called Tanaquill, a name derived from the wife of Tarquinius Priscus. She is portrayed as a virtuous ruler and serves as an allegorical depiction of Queen Elizabeth.
