Gajasura is an asura with the characteristics of an elephant who performed intense penance. He asked Shiva to grant him the power to emit fire continuously and later to let Shiva inhabit his stomach. After being tricked by Vishnu, he agreed to release Shiva and requested that people remember his head and that Shiva wear his skin.
