The Buchis bull was revered as an incarnation of Montu and lived in the temple courtyard. The temple complex of Montu in Medamud was built by Pharaoh Senusret III. The main entrance to the temple was to the north-east, while a sacred lake was probably on the west side of the sanctuary.
