Biloko

nature_spirit forest African single tradition · 1

Biloko are vicious forest spirits that live in the densest and darkest parts of the rain forest in central Zaïre, jealously and ferociously guarding their treasures of game and rare fruits. They haunt the forest because they have grudges to settle with the living and dwell in hollow trees, dressed only in leaves. They have no hair but grass growing on their bodies, piercing eyes, snouts with mouths that can open wide enough to admit a human body, and long sharp claws.
