Baschgrîs, also known as Baschmôter or Baschäinjel, is a female wood sprite with shaggy fluttering hair, large fiery eyes and very big teeth. She is used to scare children. Friedrich W. Schuster tried to establish Baschgrîs as an ancient goddess.
