Aphrodite Anaitis is a deity whose cult statues were erected in temples of major cities by Artaxerxes II, according to Berosus. The temples were located in Babylon, Susa, Ecbatana, Bactria, Persepolis, Damascus and Sardis. The cult of Aphrodite Anaitis spread widely, reaching beyond the borders of Persia, taking root in Armenia and Asia Minor.
