Antichrist
demonic earth Christian single tradition · 1
The Antichrist is a prophesied mighty ruler who will appear at the end of time, embodying enmity toward God and modeled after the historical figure Antiochus IV Epiphanes. According to Jewish and Christian eschatology, this figure is expected to command vast armies, defeat three rulers, persecute the saints, reign for three and a half years, and desecrate the Temple of God. The concept originated in the Book of Daniel and was later applied to various historical tyrants such as Pompey, Herod the Great, Caligula, and Nero.
